Prof. Dr.-Ing. Raimund Klinkner (* 1965) founded the INSTITUTE FOR MANUFACTURING EXCELLENCE (IMX) in 2012. Raimund Klinkner is the managing partner of the company and holds several mandates in industry as well as in academia.

INDUSTRIAL ENGAGEMENTS

After his degree in mechanical engineering from the Technical University of Munich, Raimund Klinkner was responsible for logistics planning, procurement and plant control at Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG from 1991 onwards. Parallelly, he did his doctorate on the subject “Quality-integrating manufacturing strategies in the automotive industry“ in 1994. In 1998, Raimund Klinkner was appointed as head of the departments production, purchase und IT at GILDEMEISTER AG (presently DMG MORI AG) and served as deputy CEO of the company from 2003. Between 2007 and 2011, Raimund Klinkner held the position of chief executive officer at Knorr-Bremse AG. Amongst others, Raimund Klinkner serves as Chairman of the Supervisory Board of DMG MORI AG, Non-Executive Board Member of the TEREX Corporation and as a member of the Advisory Board of ebm-papst.

ACADEMIC ENGAGEMENTS

Since 2000, Raimund Klinkner has been a lecturer at the Technical University of Berlin and was appointed as honorary professor for production logistics at the Institute of Technology and Management in 2003. Within the scope of the seminar entitled manufacturing logistics, Raimund Klinkner imparts future graduates profound knowledge about designing production processes, process evaluation and improvement as well as product development.

HONORARY ENGAGEMENTS

The honorary engagement of Raimund Klinkner is steadily oriented towards strengthening german production and logistics in the long term. As chairman of the Manufacturing Excellence (MX) network, Raimund Klinkner established a platform for promoting cross-industry exchange and collaboration between scientific and practical experts. During his services as chairman of the German Logistics Association (BVL) e.V., Raimund Klinkner has been actively involved in the expansion of the most important european network for supply chain management and logistics.
