After completing his mechanical engineering studies at the Technical University of Munich, Raimund Klinkner has been responsible for logistics planning, procurement and factory control at PORSCHE AG since 1991. He obtained his doctorate in 1994 while working on the subject of "Quality-integrating manufacturing strategies in the automotive industry". In 1998, Raimund Klinkner moved to the mechanical engineering company GILDEMEISTER AG (today DMG MORI AG) as Board Member for Production, Logistics, Purchasing and IT and was appointed Deputy Chairman of the Board in 2003. From 2007 to 2011 Raimund Klinkner was Chairman of the Board of Management of KNORR-BREMSE AG. In 2012, Raimund Klinkner founded what is now the INSTITUTE FOR MANAGEMENT EXCELLENCE and has since contributed his experience to various industrial mandates, for example as chairman of the supervisory board of DMG MORI AG, board member of TEREX CORPORATION, supervisory board member of EBM-PAPST-GRUPPE, supervisory board member of REHAU GROUP and as Chairman of the Supervisory Board of KOENIG & BAUER AG. In addition to his industrial activities, Raimund Klinkner has always been and still is involved in voluntary work, for example as honorary chairman of the Presidium of the GERMAN TRAFFIC FORUM (DVF), honorary professor for production logistics at TU BERLIN and honorary chairman of BUNDESVEREINIGUNG LOGISTIK e. V. (BVL). Raimund Klinkner is also a member of the Board of Trustees of the GERMAN PROTECTION ASSOCIATION FOR WERTPAPIERBESITZ (DSW). In 2020 Raimund Klinkner was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on Ribbon of the Federal Republic of Germany for his commitment and contribution to resilient supply chains.
